Packing for Savannah and Charleston

Sweatshirt: J Crew; Shoes: Kurt Geiger; Leather Skirt: Vintage
A weekend trip to look forward to is the perfect cure to a long and tiring week.  I am flying to Savannah, GA tomorrow after work and am going to be exploring Savannah and Charleston, SC in a whirlwind trip with my friend.

It is only going to be about 50 degrees in both cities and I have been struggling to know what to pack.  I hope these layered pieces and a leather jacket will be enough!
Blazer: Zara; Jeans: GAP; Heels: Nine West
Dress: Prabal Gurung for Target
Belt: J Crew
Dress: Forever 21; Necklace: Bauble Bar; Boots: J Crew
Jeans: AE; Sweater: GAP; Shoes: Forever 21
T-Shirt: Topshop; Leggings: Nordstrom; Necklace: J Crew
I have tried to pack light and comfortable pieces.  We are also going to be doing a lot of walking, so flats are a must!
Dress: H&M
Besides Kentucky and Florida, I have never been to the "South."  I am looking forward to a weekend of beautiful architecture, Spanish moss, a good friend, and glamorous Coconut cake at the Pennisula Grille in Charleston that was just featured in Vogue!

Sports Sunday

Hat: Target; Scarf: Burberry; Quilted Jacket: Burberry; Sweatshirt: J Crew; Yoga Pants: Nike; Sneakers: Puma; Purse: Marc by Marc Jacobs
Fashion and sports have always gone hand in hand.  Think of Ralph Lauren and Polo/country hunting clothes. This outfit was perfect for running errands and lunch at my Baba's and then my first tennis class.
I have an extreme weakness for grey sweatshirts.  I think that J Crew's are the best.
Bright sneakers are always a bit more fun.  These Pumas are extremely light and flexible.  Puma and Nike make really cute sneakers in every color of the rainbow.
A bit more of a polished gym look.

The Less Common Approach to Pittsburgh

Sunglasses: Ray Ban; Scarf as Headband: Louis Vuitton (thanks Mom!); T-Shirt: GAP; Necklace: Macy's; Jeggings: AE; Boots: J Crew
My weekend errands uniform of t-shirt and jeans always feels a bit more pulled together with some special touches.  This beautiful view on a sunny February day reminds me how special Pittsburgh really is.

Love this vintage Coach bag.  Someone added the metal sea beast.

View of Heinz Plant and downtown Pittsburgh

Lipstick: NARS: Carthage
I love silk scarves to try and tame unruly hair.
I like to wear my "special" pieces whenever I can and not just keep them as glamorous things to look at.  Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

Victorian Rock N'Roll T-Shirt

Sunglasses: Ray Ban; Jacket: Vintage; Jean Jacket: GAP; David Bowie T-Shirt; Skirt: Ann Taylor
An extra day off allowed me time to explore a neighborhood that I usually only see from the highway, Manchester.  This neighborhood on Pittsburgh's North Side is a reminder of the price of suburban sprawl.  A t-shirt and skirt felt just right on this seasonal day.
This street in particular had some beautiful Victorian homes, some renovated, others derelict.
This vintage BB Dakota has 1980's shoulders.  I am probably going to have it tailored into a vest and a shawl collar.  I like its basic grey color which goes well with black.
This church was absolutely beautiful.

Nails: Revlon "Iconic"

Exploring more of Pittsburgh and its hidden glamorous gems is something I want to make more of a priority and not just something I do on vacation.

Pastel Graffiti: Tough and Soft

Vest: Vintage Mink; Jacket: American Eagle; Blouse: H&M; Pants: Gap; Boots: JCrew
I love to mix textures and fabrics with unexpected colors.  These pants were in honor of Valentine's Day toughed up with leather.  The graffiti wall is in Wilkinsburg.  I like that it is in lighter softer colors.

Purse: Vintage Dior (prob 1970's)-My best thrift purchase ever

Ring: 1970's thrift find
A mix of tough and soft and glam and grunge.

Days in the English Countryside

Burghley House: Lincolnshire

Prior Park: Outside Bath, my brother's school (yes, really)
These English Country estate houses make it clear to me why English literature and current shows like Downton Abbey can revolve around the duty families feel to their country estates.
Montacute House: Somerset
Graffiti, Prior Park
